Cornelia Bom joins RHIA Team of Directors

Rotterdam The Hague Innovation Airport (RHIA) is proud to announce the addition of Cornelia Bom to the current Team of Directors.

Cornelia: “I am super excited to join the Team of Directors of Rotterdam The Hague Innovation Airport. Through local collaboration, we can ascertain future-proof innovations with concrete pilotprojects. Together, we are building the sustainable aviation of tomorrow and act as a flywheel for scaling up the transition in aviation”

As an energy transition advisor at Shell, Cornelia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be of great importance to the future developments within RHIA. Together with Victor Rijkaart and Lennard Verhoeff, Cornelia will focus on the transition to a cleaner, quieter and smarter future of aviation, with Rotterdam The Hague Airport as a unique testing ground.

A Unique Composition of Expertise

With the addition of Cornelia, the Team of Directors is strengthened with valuable substantive expertise in the field of energy transition. This is of great importance in the development and implementation of innovations at and around the airport and crucial for the transition to a more sustainable future of aviation. Cornelia will use her expertise to expertly support the Executive Board in formulating and implementing strategic plans.

The importance of industry partners

The merger of public and private forces within the Team of Directors is crucial to be able to realize impactful changes. Rotterdam The Hague Airport serves as a unique testing ground, providing an exceptional environment where innovative technologies and ideas can progress from concept to reality. Involving private partners is therefore crucial to support and make these both large and small initiatives successful. It is only then; will you utilize the full power of a community.

The RHIA Team of Directors as a driving force for the community

The RHIA Team of Directors has a special role, in addition to the statutory obligations, provides direction when necessary and plays a facilitating role in connecting different stakeholders and initiatives. It is precisely this connecting role that ensures that innovation within the aviation sector is not only possible but also accelerated.

The resignation of Jos van den Boom

With the appointment of Cornelia, RHIA also bids farewell to Jos van den Boom (TU Delft). Jos will, from his position at TU Delft, focus on an intensive collaboration with Ministry of Defense. Of course, Jos will remain connected to the RHIA community and RHIA wishes him much success in this new challenge!

The only way is up!

With Cornelia on board, RHIA will play a key role in the transition to a sustainable aviation industry, starting from Rotterdam. The current Team of Directors warmly welcome Cornelia and look forward to a fruitful collaboration that will benefit not only RHIA, but also the wider aviation community. Victor: “Together we are taking steps towards a cleaner, quieter and smarter future.”

RHIA is de ‘runway’ voor innovatie, een plek waar bedrijven, ondernemers en studenten zich inzetten voor de transitie naar een schonere, stillere en slimme toekomst van de luchtvaart.
