Roundtable break-out session II: ‘Innovation in weather intelligence for Airport application'

Date: June 8 Time: 15:30-16:30 Location: room 2.11 ABOUT: Many airport operations are relying on weather insights, spanning from air traffic operations for take-off and landing or for runway allocation, to the improvement of travelers experience from/to the airport. Innovation is required to improve weather insights, both, in terms of quality of information and ways to communicate such an information. The goal of this session is to bring weather innovators and potential airport users at the same table to confront and connect operation needs with new developments in the field of weather intelligence.

Roundtable break-out session III: ‘‘Open airport data – reality, future, utopia’

Date: June 8 Time: 15:30-16:30 Location: Room 2.13 ABOUT: Open data is data that anyone can access, use and share. Open data becomes usable when made available in a common, machine-readable format. Without data we cannot build information, and without information there is no new knowledge. It is argued that governments, businesses and individuals can use open data to achieve social, economic and environmental benefits. In some industries, open data is more common than in others. How is the airport industry doing? Is it something that adds value to the industry? What are the opportunities and threats? Where can we improve as an industry?
