The latest issue of the Hydrogen Europe Quarterly features a deep‑dive article from the DutcH₂ Aviation Hub, reflecting on one of this year’s defining milestones: the AeroDelft hydrogen‑powered taxi test at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. It was the first time a student‑built hydrogen aircraft prototype operated on an active Dutch airport and behind that moment stood months of engineering, safety preparation, partner coordination, and regulatory alignment.

In the article, we look beyond the test itself. We explore how such a breakthrough comes together, what it reveals about the future of hydrogen aviation, and how the RHIA ecosystem enables early‑stage innovation on an operational airfield. Voices from Isha Moharir-AeroDelft, Elise Bavelaar -TU Delft, Daan van Dijk- Rotterdam The Hague Airport, and Victor Rijkaart- RHIA provide firsthand insight into the collaboration that made this milestone possible.

It’s a story of ambition, technical ingenuity, and the growing European momentum behind zero‑emission flight. We appreciate Hydrogen Europe Quarterly for giving us the opportunity to share this milestone and the work behind it.
